CLIPPY PROGRAMME

6-8 YEARS OLD | K01 - K03

Our Cultural Language Immersion Programme in Primary Years (CLIPPY) offers an opportunity for children without prior knowledge of German to join and receive support through Deutsch als Fremdsprache (DaF). Designed for children aged 6-8, CLIPPY serves as a solid foundation for multilingualism, an invaluable life skill. CLIPPY students have 15 DaF lessons each week where German is taught as a foreign language, integrating them fully into our German curriculum classes within a year. Our unwavering commitment is to deliver the very best education possible within a friendly and close-knit community.

Admission into the CLIPPY programme is limited to the beginning of the school year which is in August, and only a certain number of students are accepted to ensure optimal integration and full participation in GSIS life. While we welcome children with no prior knowledge of German, admission decisions are based on individual interviews and tests in English, Maths, and soft skills such as concentration and perseverance. Furthermore, it is expected that enrolled students have completed a summer course at the Goethe Institute before the term commences. For non-native German speakers, earlier enrolment is preferred to achieve greater progress in becoming bilingual where the best entry point into the programme is in K01 (6-7 years old). However, we are still pleased to welcome students in K02 - K03 (7-9 years old).
