Our Two Campuses
In 1969, German Swiss International School first opened its doors to 73 students in a house at 1 Barker Road, The Peak. In view of growing student numbers, the school introduced its first building on Guildford Road in 1975. Today, the school is divided into two campuses located on Hong Kong Island. The Pok Fu Lam Campus is for our Early Years which includes Kindergarten and Lower Primary, and The Peak Campus caters to our Upper Primary and Secondary students.
POK FU LAM CAMPUS
The Pok Fu Lam Campus provides an enviable range of facilities, and its hero attraction is a large outdoor adventure playground for children to be entertained, play sports, and host activities. Other features include a well-resourced library filled with German, English, and Mandarin books, a treehouse in the classrooms for spirited learning, and a dedicated indoor Physical Education room. The campus resides within a diverse and vibrant community, including a charming local village which has been recognised for its historical and cultural significance. The area offers a unique blend of natural beauty, cultural heritage, and modern amenities that make it one of Hong Kong's most desirable neighbourhoods. The campus is situated across the road from the Pok Fu Lam Skills Centre where no parking is available, and GSIS students are required to use the school bus service.
THE PEAK CAMPUS
As a through-train institution, students at the Pok Fu Lam Campus are guaranteed a placement at The Peak Campus. Comprising the Upper, Middle, and Lower Building, our comprehensive facilities encourage an educational atmosphere and offer recreational spaces dedicated to developing physical, mental, and social skills whilst overlooking The Peak. Students will have access to indoor multi-purpose sports halls, an indoor swimming pool which is available year-round, and outdoor basketball and football courts along with multiple playgrounds. Students will also be privy to an auditorium dedicated to drama and music performances, libraries with over 20,000 resources in German, English, and Mandarin, a dining hall with natural daylight catered by professionals, and classrooms equipped with smartboards. Sitting at the top of Victoria Peak, which is the highest point on Hong Kong Island, The Peak Campus offers stunning views of Victoria Harbour and the surrounding cityscape and located within one of the most exclusive neighbourhoods in the city. This prestigious residential area is known for its luxurious homes, scenic beauty, and world-class amenities, including high-end boutiques and restaurants. Nearby attractions include The Peak Tram, Galleria, and Sky Terrace 428 which is just a short drive or hike from the campus. Public transportation is easily accessible by bus or taxi. While no parking is available, parents can drop-off or use the school bus service.
