Governance
German Swiss International School is operated by The German Swiss International School Association Limited (the “Association”). The Association is a company limited by guarantee and granted charitable status by the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department. It is bound to comply with Hong Kong laws and regulations. The Association is proud of its Board of Directors (the “Board”) who brings a wealth of specialist knowledge, skills, and experience to shape the school's future strategy while offering support and advice to the Principal, Chief Administrative Officer, and Senior Management Team. The Board elects from its Directors the Chair, who convenes and presides over all meetings and who acts for and on behalf of the Association. Comprising a group of alumni and current parents, the Board is invested in nurturing the school and maintaining the school’s tradition of representing different stakeholder groups through various sub-committees. Parents, members of the Association and persons nominated by the Board can become members of several sub-committees. While the Association is responsible for the operational aspects of the school, it is the school’s sponsoring body i.e. The German Swiss International School Foundation Limited (the “Foundation”) that is responsible for managing the school’s fixed assets and the Debenture Capital Levy Scheme. As the sponsoring body of the school, the Foundation collects and handles the proceeds of debenture and capital levies used to meet the cost of major capital projects for the school in accordance with the terms of the contractual agreement agreed entered into between the Foundation and the school. If you have any question regarding the foregoing contractual agreement entered into between the Foundation and the school, please contact the Admissions Office of the school by email at admissions@gsis.edu.hk.
