School Buses
Similar to other international schools in Hong Kong, school buses are operated by external bus companies that specialise in getting students to and from school.
The companies providing the school bus service for GSIS for the next two academic years (2023-2024 and 2024-2025) are Kwoon Chung Motors Limited and Lau Hon Por (School Bus Services) Limited.
With all the care that GSIS takes in selecting bus companies to serve the school community, all contracts are made directly between the company and parents. The school does not assume any administrative tasks such as issuing invoices or liability.
However, we are happy to help and will forward all questions and concerns to the company concerned. If necessary, please contact our school bus coordinator.
The number of seats on the school buses is based on the respective enrollments of season tickets on all routes. The bus companies will also provide single tickets to all relative parties. The priority of boarding will be applied as: 1. Students with a season ticket; 2. Students with a single ticket; 3. GSIS staff; 4. Parents (further information is available directly from the respective school bus providers).
- A mandatory school bus regulation for the Pok Fu Lam campus is in effect.
- The buses cover predetermined routes with stops that students can reach centrally in the residential areas to keep travel times as short as possible and avoid traffic jams. Unfortunately, it is not possible for the bus companies to pick up the children directly from home.
GSIS seeks to create and maintain effective and efficient school bus transportation for all eligible students. In order to achieve this end, we are delighted to share our School Bus Guidelines.
