- Highlights of the Week
Dear Parents,
The first week after the inspection is behind us. The joy over the positive results still resonates and is a wonderful testament to our excellent work over the past years. Even though detailed written feedback is expected in the upcoming weeks, we have already started analysing the results on Monday. The initial insights are promising and show us areas where we can further develop our strengths and specifically work on our weaknesses.
Our vision for the future is clear: We will use the insights gained to develop further and continually improve our standards. Everyone in our school community plays a significant role in this process, and together we will take the next step in our development. I am pleased that our future principal, Mrs Freigang-Krause, will also be involved in this school development process from the very beginning. Her commitment and perspective will undoubtedly make a valuable contribution to supporting our school on its path towards continuous improvement and excellence.
In recent weeks, alongside the BLI, our school community has experienced a multitude of exciting events and highlights that have united us through their cultural diversity and joy. From Halloween to the St. Martin's Lantern Walk and Diwali – these celebrations showcased a vibrant array of traditions. We also had the pleasure of welcoming English explorer and discoverer Benedict Allen, whose tales of adventures around the globe fascinated us. Not to forget were the 24 talented players of the German Rugby National Team, who impressed us with their strength and team spirit and whom we can cheer for during the test match against Hong Kong on Saturday.

Odd Socks Day is a day to celebrate uniqueness and spread kindness and acceptance. We should always be free to be ourselves and this day just reminds us of that, if we can appreciate odd socks, we can also appreciate everyone's differences. In the Ladybird class, we celebrated our differences by wearing odd socks, we also designed our own odd socks. What can you do to spread kindness?

The Kindergarten students and staff have been very busy with different activities and events since our return from the Mid-Term Break. This includes our Halloween Party, the Parent-Child Lantern making of all Kindergarten Classes, a Fire Drill, and a BLI Inspectors visit to the PFL Campus. The special highlight in the past two weeks was celebrating our traditional St Martin’s Lantern walk at Hong Kong Park.
We thank all our parents and students for their generous donations towards the “Box of Hope”. The collection amounted to approximately 180 boxes.
As the Festive Season is fast approaching, please reserve the date for a fun morning with your child at PFL to enjoy “Christmas Around the World” at the PFL Campus on 15 December 2023.
Enjoy the cooler weather.

Our primary school radiated with vibrant hues during the enchanting Diwali celebration on November 15th. The Peak Primary School Building buzzed with excitement as students from both streams came together for a spectacular event orchestrated by dedicated parents. The air resonated with the melodic strains of traditional songs, and the stage came alive with mesmerizing dance performances. The highlight of the day was a Bollywood-style dance activity that had everyone on their feet joyously participating.
During the break, the students indulged in a delectable array of Indian snacks, savouring the flavours that added to the festive atmosphere. The cultural immersion continued with an engaging art activity featuring wooden stamps from India, allowing the children to explore and express their creativity.
Heartfelt gratitude extends to the parents whose meticulous planning and dedication made this Diwali celebration a resounding success. The event brought the essence of Diwali to our school and fostered a sense of unity and cultural appreciation among the students.
Happy Diwali

The whole of Primary, EPD and GPD, was treated to the most amazing celebration of Diwali this Wednesday. We had both traditional and contemporary music and dance performances from students and parents, plus an opportunity to take part in a whole of primary Bollywood dance session with Hitesh Amarnani. It was such a joyful atmosphere for the whole community, and the staff wish to thank the EPD parent community for sponsoring and organising this uplifting event. It was a wonderful way to bring the community together, and we are already looking forward to the next celebration!
Special thanks to our KPRs, Richa Sood and Anju Brantly for all of their passion and organisation.
Please check the class sites and the school website for photographs of the day.
On a much less positive note, there have been several reports of children making poor language choices, particularly on the school bus, but also in school. This has happened at the Peak and Pok Fu Lam campuses, even with the youngest children.
Of course, each family has different views about what language is acceptable, but hearing swearing on the bus is very upsetting for many of our children. We ask you to remind your own children to respect others and avoid this type of language at school and on the bus.
Teachers will also remind their classes about making good choices and respecting others.
We hope all our families who celebrate have a very happy Diwali.
