NEWS AND EVENTS

EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

German Swiss International School provides students with a wide range of extra-curricular and afternoon activities to explore their personal interests, develop new skills, and form meaningful connections with their peers and the community. These activities have a positive impact on their academic careers, demonstrating to universities a commitment to learning outside the classroom. We encourage our students to pursue their passions and achieve success both academically and personally.

Art

The arts play a significant role in a child's education where our creative outlets, which include art, drama, and music, provide an opportunity for students to express themselves in unique and powerful ways. Our arts programmes are designed to foster creativity and encourage exploration, whether it's through painting, drawing, sculpting, acting, or playing an instrument. We are proud to offer a variety of opportunities for our students to be creative and discover their passions in order to develop a deeper appreciation for the arts and gain a greater understanding of their cultural significance.

Sports

We believe that sports is essential in a student's physical and mental well-being. Our diverse sports programme offers a variety of physical activities, from traditional sports such as football, tennis, cricket, hockey, and netball to specialized activities like gymnastics, fencing, touch rugby, and more. Team sports help to build confidence, encourage team spirit, and develop leadership skills, while individual pursuits focuses on concentration, discipline, and perseverance. We also recognize the importance of non-competitive activities, which promotes physical fitness and stress relief. Catering to students of all interests and skill levels, we encourage every student to participate and discover the benefits of an active lifestyle.

Leadership and Service

GSIS offers a diverse range of leadership opportunities for students across all levels. From class responsibilities in Kindergarten to House Leaders in Primary and School Council in Secondary, we provide numerous platforms for students to grow and develop their leadership skills. Students can become Head Students, Deputy Student Heads, Prefects, Class Representatives, House Captains, or participate in the student-run Academic Societies and the Global Initiatives Group. We believe that every student has the potential to be a leader and we provide them with the necessary support and resources to showcase their qualities. We aim to instil a sense of responsibility and confidence where their dedication to leadership and service sets them on a path towards lifelong success and fulfilment.
