GSIS recently celebrated Wellbeing Week - a full week of activities and events meant to promote overall positive wellbeing for mind and body, as well as to boost morale amongst our students. The event took place across all our campuses on the Peak and in Pok Fu Lam.
Our Kindergarten got a very special visit by “The Kids on the Block” - a puppet show supported by the Society for the Relief of Disabled Children (SRDC) and the Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation. The programme is designed to teach students about various issues they could encounter including learning difficulties, obesity, coping with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) etc.
During the visit, students were introduced to the importance of healthy snacking - which not only means knowing what to eat, but also when to eat it. The children also learned that dental hygiene plays an equal role and how they must always brush their teeth - twice a day, every day.
A big thank you goes out to Mrs Sophie Burdel, Head of Kindergarten, for making this event possible.
