Can you design a functioning car that runs with a blown-up balloon? During the Interhouse Science Week, our junior students took up this challenge and built balloon-propelled cars with simple materials. Using sticks, straws, rubber bands, balloons and cardboards, the younger students from both streams worked together to design a car that can run fast and far.
While each house got creative with unique designs for their cars, they also had to optimise the law of physics in order for their final project to function.
Watch and listen to the design concepts of our students and find out which house made the fastest car and won the Balloon Powered Race!
P.S. Stay tuned for our next video featuring the seniors and their spaghetti bridge challenge!
