COMMUNITY

We believe that enriching our community is vital to our success as a school. Our close and caring community is our greatest strength, and we strive to foster an environment where everyone feels valued and supported. From students and staff to parents and alumni, we see ourselves as a family, united by our love for GSIS and our commitment to excellence in education. Whether it's through volunteering at school events, participating in various activities or engaging with our wider community, we encourage all members to play an active role in shaping the GSIS experience. Through this collaborative effort, we aim to create a vibrant and inclusive community that supports every student's growth and development both inside and outside the classroom.

Parents' Organisation for Community (POC)

By upholding and enhancing the GSIS community spirit, the Parents' Organisation for Community (POC) plays an important role in uniting the school and raising funds. This group of parent volunteers work closely with the school management and Board of Governors to collaborate and foster a strong sense of community throughout school life. The incredible team of volunteers organise events such as our annual Christmas Bazaar, staff appreciation party, and much more. We encourage GSIS parents to play a visible and supportive role in the school community, creating a culture of giving and volunteering. A host of activities are also organised in a social setting to mix and mingle. We welcome all to join and get involved.

KLASSENPFLEGSCHAFTEN (KPRS)

Derived from the German education system, Klassenpflegschaften (KPRs) are elected class representatives by parents. As a schoolwide initiative, this forum brings together parents, class teachers, and subject teachers to promote an atmosphere of mutual support and trust. The KPRs role is to facilitate open communication through meetings where parents work closely with the faculty in order to promote a deeper understanding of policies and procedures, voice concerns, and encourage proactive feedback. This collaborative approach strengthens the relationship between parents and teachers, fostering a supportive learning environment and enriching the educational experience for all GSIS students.

ALUMNI

The international network of our alumni is incredible, and our GSIS family extends beyond their school years. We are committed to supporting former students and staff with lifelong opportunities, cultivating a spirit of unity and community. Our alumni network is vibrant and thriving, and we encourage a culture of helping and giving back. We organise events and reunions, provide professional networks, and offer information to support our alumni worldwide. To stay in touch with fellow alumni and benefit from the vast opportunities available, sign up to GSIS Engage, a secure portal that serves as a hub for connecting with others from around the world. The GSIS Alumni WhatsApp community is also another avenue to stay connected and receive the latest news and announcements.
